What is the United Magazine?

United Magazine is Sha Tin College's first student-run, annual themed bilingual magazine. Started in 2013, the magazines' aims have been to promote bilingual learning, awareness of local issues and provide a platform for students to demonstrate their many skills (be it art, editing or business management). The magazine also provides an opportunity for students to give back to their local community.

This year, the United Magazine has expanded our operations to jointly manage the magazine with South Island School - forming a team of 45 members. Together, we have decided on this year's theme: "Food", all in an effort to bring awareness to the alarming issue of food waste in Hong Kong. In the spirit of this, our surplus proceeds will be donated to the charity FeedingHK.

The magazine will be distributed - free of charge - throughout both Sha Tin College and South Island School, reaching a majority of both schools' student population, and by extension, the school community: including teachers and parents. We will also be launching an online platform to feature submissions not included in the print edition. One month after the official print launch, the magazine will also be promoted throughout both schools' online platforms (e.g. School Announcement, Student Homepage Bulletin/Banners).
